Elspeth Gray
I joined the Society as Secretary/Administrator in March 2000. Essentially, my job is to work with the Chairman, Chairman Elect, Management Board (to which I act as Secretary) and Committees, Branch office-bearers, volunteers and members to ensure that the business of the Society is run smoothly and effectively. I am supported in that by the team at Headquarters.

Craig Jackson
I joined the Society in November 2006 on returning to Scotland after fifteen years of living and working in London. As Examinations & Youth Officer, I am responsible for co-ordinating our international programme of dance qualifications –Teaching Certificate Parts 1 and 2, Medal Tests for Young People, and the Dancing Proficiency Assessment. I also act as Secretary to the Education & Training Committee and work closely with the Convenor and committee members. I am also the first male employee in the history of the Society!
Shona Coyle
I came to the Society on a temporary basis in November 2005, and became a permanent member of staff in January 2006. I have responsibility for many of the financial functions of the organisation, including membership renewals for individuals, Branches and Affiliated Groups, as well as the day-to-day aspects of paying suppliers, etc. I act as Secretary to the General Purposes & Finance Committee and work with the Convenor and committee members to further the aims and objectives of the Society. I am also a part-time lecturer in accountancy.
Jill Petri (née Henderson)
I have been with the Society since November 2004 and I am responsible for the administration of our annual Summer and Winter Schools, as well as providing support to the Schools Sub-Committee. I also act as secretary to Membership Services Committee. Other duties include contributing towards the effective functioning of the team and providing assistance in the organising of the Annual Conference Weekend and AGM.
Kate Lawrie
After returning to Edinburgh in 2000 from a 15-year stay in Australia, I began working for the Society as Finance and Administration Assistant. My main role is dealing with customers’ orders either by telephone, email or in person. I am responsible for processing invoices and banking payments. Some of my other duties include reviewing and ordering stock and stocktaking, processing all the outgoing mail and distributing “Welcome Packs” to Branches for new members.
