George Cooper

George Cooper was awarded a scroll at the 2002 RSCDS AGM, nominated by Melbourne & District Branch. Here is the citation which accompanied the presentation.

George joined the RSCDS in 1962 and gained his full certificate in 1967. He was part of a small committee charged with establishing the then Melbourne & District Branch, he became Treasurer during its early formation years and in fact he continues in this role today.

Over a great many years George has provided and continues to provide dedicated, loyal and outstanding service to the Society through the Melbourne & District Branch. His contribution to Scotland's heritage of dance and music has been immense and incalculable.
