Muriel Johnstone

Muriel Johnstone was awarded a scroll at the 2002 RSCDS AGM, nominated by San Diego Branch. Here is the citation which accompanied the presentation.

It is difficult to adequately summarise Muriel's contributions to the Society and Scottish Country dance music, as they are so extensive and wide-ranging. She has served the organisation with her committee work, including: Publications & Research Committee, Music Director, Strategic Planning Committee member, Executive Council Member and Delegate at AGM.

She holds the Society's full teaching certificate and is an accomplished dancer, but certainly her contributions to the Society as a musician are without peer. As a representative of the Society and a tireless advocate for its goals she has served the organisation and furthered its aims diligently and proudly. Dancers throughout the world have had their appreciation and enjoyment of SCD increased immeasurably due to her talent, hard work and enthusiasm.
