Pat Clark
Pat is a well respected musician and teacher of Scottish country dancing. She started dancing in 1947 and took her Teachers Certificate in Leeds in 1964. She has played for Birmingham, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Sutton Coldfield and York Branch classes as well as for workshops in Japan, Australia, America, Europe and all over the UK. She started playing for the Summer School in St Andrews in 1966, and, apart from a short gap, has been playing ever since, frequently for all four weeks. She has played for 32 certificate classes.
Her teaching career has run parallel to her playing one. She taught classes in the Midlands, Wales, Yorkshire and in various schools in which she was teaching. She has taught in Japan and Europe as well as Day and Weekend workshops in the UK.
Pat has an interest in Ladies Step dancing and has taught this both locally and nationally. She has taught the Ladies Step class in St Andrews training the dancers to dance one of her own compositions for the display.
She was elected to the Education and Training Committee on its formation and took a key role in the development of the new Examination structure.
