Stanley Wilkie
Trained at Jordanhill College of Physical Education, Glasgow where Miss Milligan set him on the road to a very successful career in Scottish Country Dancing.
He taught in Edinburgh Schools and then at Knox Academy, Haddington. He was a member of the Edinburgh Branch Demonstration Class for many years and took part in many demonstrations at Civic Receptions, Royal visits and television performances of The Kilt is My Delight, The Edinburgh Branch Show – An Edinburgh Fancy, when it was in The Old Royal High School Hall.
For many years he taught, very successfully, Branch Classes which attracted dancers from Edinburgh and outwith the city. He was then invited to teach the demonstration class where his good discipline and extensive knowledge of dance appeared in the dancers he trained for festivals and shows. The candidates he prepared for the Certificate Examinations were very successful.
As an official adjudicator for the RSCDS he was invited to adjudicate at festivals all over Britain.
His wide experience of teaching at all levels at Summer School in St Andrews led to many invitations to teach in Europe and further afield.
As an official examiner his services have been much in demand at Summer School and abroad.
