Masako Okada Naitoh (Marchan)

Masako Okada NaitohMrs Masako Okada Naitoh, better known as Marchan, is a member of the Tokai Branch of the Society.

She has contributed much to the development of Scottish Country Dancing in Japan for over half a century.  She was one of the very first fully certificated teachers in Japan and one of the key members responsible for the founding of the Tokyo and Tokai branches of the Society.

It is thanks to her boundless energy, hard work and high standards that there are so many able dancers and qualified teachers throughout Japan.

She has treasured the spirit and cultural heritage of Scottish Country Dancing given to her by Miss Jean Milligan and has, in turn, passed these on to many, many dancers over the years.  The seeds that had been given to her found a fertile land from which countless flowers and fruits have grown.

Marchan is still working, as hard as ever, to send the fresh breeze that is Scottish Country Dancing around Japan in order to touch the hearts of even more dancers.
