Marjorie MacRae

Marjorie joined the Society in 1962, gained her Teachers Certificate in 1968, and has continually taught classes in West Lothian including presenting candidates for Preliminary Test and Full Certificate. In recognition of her work in 1993 she received the West Lothian Arts Individual Award. She has served as Secretary/Treasurer Chairman, and is presently Treasurer.

She was a member of the Executive Council for over 20 years, serving on the General Purposes, Finance, Summer School committees and on several sub committees.

She is a member of the Summer School staff and was Depute Director, Director of Summer and Winter School and has taught at weekend schools in the UK and abroad.

Presently she teaches an age range from 4 years to 90+ in Central Scotland. With the support of the Branch and Arts West Lothian she teaches adults with learning difficulties and everyone is thrilled with the success of this venture.

Marjorie never misses an opportunity to help dancers who are lacking in confidence. She has encouraged many people especially those with limited experience to attend and enjoy classes and dances, helping them enjoy her love of Scottish Country Dancing and the friendship of the Society.
