Morag Napier

Morag Napier has taught classes at all levels for Sydney Branch since 1974. The emphasis of her teaching has always been on Society published dances and correct technique.

Morag has taught at various weekend Schools: (Sydney, Melbourne, Hunter Valley and Queensland) and at six of the Australian Winter Schools.  On numerous occasions she has travelled to New Zealand where she has taught in Wellington and Auckland, at Branch weekends, and at the NZ Summer School in 2001/2.

She has conducted weekend workshops for teachers in Melbourne, Adelaide and Queensland and convened several courses for tutors in certificate classes. .   She trained 3 groups of teachers for their Preliminary Test and then for their full certificate.  Since 1990 Morag has been an RSCDS examiner.

Morag is the secretary and driving force of the Sydney Teachers liaison group since its inception, 30 years ago and mentor to many of the Sydney teachers, particularly on issues of technique.

Morag was a member of the organising committee of the Australian Winter Schools hosted by Sydney Branch  in 1981, 1988, 1995 and 2002, and she was responsible for teachers, classes, and grading of dancers. She was chairman of organising committee for 2002 Winter School.

In 1989 she was awarded life membership of Sydney Branch.
