RSCDS Scholarships
There is a range of scholarships available from the Jean Milligan Memorial Fund and other sources to members attending Summer School. Seven/eight scholarships, which cover residential fees and examination fees (where applicable), are currently available each year.
Scholarship application forms are available either from your local Secretary or here, and a recommendation from the Branch must accompany each application.
A Branch may submit only one recommendation for each scholarship, although applications for more than one scholarship may be considered.

1. Teaching Certificate Part 2
A Scholarship is offered annually to Members who wish to attend Summer School with a view to taking the Teaching Certificate Part 2 (Unit 5). A report from the class teacher and a recommendation from the Branch (to be signed by Branch Chairman and Secretary) with reasons for nomination should be sent with application form.
2. Teaching Certificate Part 1
A Scholarship is offered annually to Members who wish to attend Summer School with a view to taking the Teaching Certificate Part 1 (Units 2 and 3). A report from the class teacher and a recommendation from the Branch (to be signed by the Branch Chairman and Secretary), with reasons for nomination, should be included with application form.
3. Junior Scholarship
A Junior Scholarship is offered annually to Members aged 16-20 years wishing to attend Summer School. A recommendation from the Branch (to be signed by Branch Chairman and Secretary) with reasons for nomination should be included with application form.
4. General Scholarship
A General Scholarship is offered to Members wishing to attend Summer School. A recommendation from the Branch (to be signed by Branch Chairman and Secretary) with reasons for nomination should be included with application form.
5. The Duncan MacLeod Scholarship
This Scholarship is offered to a student in (preferably) Physical Education Training. The Scholarship consists of payment for two weeks at Summer School. The student selected will attend the class preparing candidates for the Teaching Certificate Part 1 and will be tested at the end of the course. The examination fee will also be covered by the Scholarship. Application form here.
6. John Duckett Scholarship
A Scholarship funded by the proceeds for the "Green Book". Preferably it will be offered to full-time students aged 16-25. Application form here.
7. Youth Working Group Scholarship
Two Scholarships are offered to full-time students under 21 and up to 35 in full-time education, presently attending classes or interested in learning Scottish Country Dancing. The Scholarships consist of payment of half the weekly residential fee (including full board, accommodation, tuition fee and membership fee, if required) for the second week of Summer School.
