When do the couples release hands to change from promenade hold to one hand?

Both couples change from using both hands in promenade hold to one hand towards the end of the fourth step, so that all finish in a line up and down the middle of the set, the women facing towards the man's side and the men facing towards the woman's side of the dance. (The couple at the top retain right hands, and the couple at the bottom retain left hands.)
