Inside our web shop, all site visitors can look through the full collection of RSCDS-published dances using our very comprehensive 'search' facility, find the books and recordings in which specific dances appear, and browse the various items for sale. Finally anyone can fill a shopping cart, price it and decide between various options as to how you want to complete the transaction. If you want to drop in at our Edinburgh office and collect your order, that too is possible, or even pick it up at Summer School or elsewhere. The quickest way will be to order and pay via Paypal, and that facility we intend to introduce in a few months when the shop is running smoothly.
Dance Query Index
This dance index (containing about 800 dance names) is designed to help those searching for a dance, perhaps only knowing a fragment of the name, or those searching for a publication or recording of a known dance. The index can be queried either on the first letter or on character sequences, words, or even listed in its entirety. Each dance has various items of information added to it, examples being the basic information about the dance, what recordings of associated music we sell, and any other items which have a connection to the dance. We look forward to adding even more information in future. Multiple-named dances are shown by an asterisk (*). Where a dance does has multiple names (up to four in one case), there is an entry for each name, thus creating duplicates. This enables anyone to find any dance, even if they know only one of the names.

RSCDS Publications (Books and other printed media)
Detailed below are the books of instructions for dances, most with printed music, which have been published by The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society over many years. Book 1 was published in 1924. The individual books of dances are individually referenced to related recordings in the dance query index accessible through the sidebar. The Society's books are revised periodically for clarification and to reflect current terminology. A new cycle of revision has begun but no revised books have yet been published. As revised books come on stream they will be clearly marked as such below. Please note, however, that this is a long-term project and it may be a number of years before any particular book is re-issued.
