This book includes dances originally published by the Society's branches and which had gained a degree of popularity. Again the process used for Book 44 was sued of sending batches of dances to (other) barnches for assessment.

The cover of the book shows representative photographs to illustrate the home branches of the deviser or publisher and demonstrates the international appeal of Scottish country dancing with two dances from Scotland, four from England, two from Australia and one each from Canada and New Zealand.
