Matched Funding Initiative

From 1st September 2017 every Branch can apply for £250 from the Development Fund, to support a new initiative aimed at:

·  Teaching SCD to people who are not dancers

·  Encouraging young people to enjoy SCD

·  Raising the profile of Scottish dance locally

The money is offered on the basis of matched funding, so the Development Fund will provide half the cost of a project, up to £250. For example, if your initiative costs £200, the Fund will provide £100; if your initiative costs £600 the Fund will supply £250. For overseas Branches the amount will be based on the exchange rate at the time of your application.

The RSCDS will offer up to £250 to every Branch. Matched with funding from your Branch, it is sufficient for you to run a course for beginners, send a teacher into a school for a series of lessons or run a community ceilidh. There are many more exciting projects that would meet the criteria for this funding.

Applications can be made at any time between 1st September 2017 and 31st December 2018 so you have plenty of time to plan a project that suits the circumstances of your Branch. If you would like some inspiration, your Board contact will be happy to help.

Your project must be a new initiative (this stream of funding cannot be used to support an existing class). When your project is complete you will be asked to let us know how it went and evaluate its success.

Only Branches can apply for this matched funding. Affiliated Groups and individual members are eligible to apply for other RSCDS Funds.

Short application forms are available for download here. The form can be completed digitally and emailed to, or printed and sent to the RSCDS headquarters in Edinburgh.
