Scholarships are available for members wishing to take either Teaching Certificate Part 1 or Teaching Certificate Part 2. Under the terms of one of the awards, the Duncan McLeod Scholarship, preference will be given to candidates undergoing teacher training, preferably in Physical Education.

General Scholarships:

General one-week scholarships are offered to members wishing to attend Summer School as dancers, or on the Musicians’ Course (including the Kitty McLauchlan Award).

Youth Scholarships:

One-week scholarships (including the Derek Haynes Award) are offered annually to members aged 16-25 years, who wish to attend Summer School as dancers, or through the Musician’s Course.  Preference will be given to those in full time education who have not previously attended Summer School.

The John Duckett Scholarship:

A one-week Scholarship for dancers is funded by the proceeds from the “Green Book”.  Preference will be given to full-time students aged 16-25 years.

Scholarship application form is available either here or from your local Secretary, and a recommendation from the Branch must also accompany each application.

A Branch may submit only one recommendation for each scholarship, although applications for more than one scholarship may be considered. THE APPLICATION FORM MUST BE RETURNED TO HEADQUARTERS BY 16TH NOVEMBER 2016.

Spring Fling

Scholarships are offered annually. The scholarships are open to members of the RSCDS and to non-members alike. Applicants should be under 35, and preference will be given to those under 25.
