Christmas Greetings from the Chairman

RSCDS Chairman Lorna Ogilvie wishes you a happy Christmas

As we near the end of 2021 it is time to reflect on a busy, if rather strange, year as RSCDS Chairman. My personal highlights include the sheer joy of dancing to live music with friends, old and new, at the recent Autumn Gathering weekend in Perth and the amazing virtual Winter School, Spring Fling, and Summer School events which took us to Pitlochry, Aberdeen and St Andrews. A huge thank you to teachers, musicians and dancers for raising spirits at a time when many members remained in lockdown.

Talking of spirits …. William and I recently visited the distillery in Pitlochry, the spiritual home of Winter School, where our RSCDS Centenary 10 year old Blair Athol, Single Cask Malt Whisky, will be produced in 2023.

With snow on the Perthshire hills and Christmas decorations in place, it provided the perfect setting for me to wish everyone a 'Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year' when the bells ring in 2022!
