Scottish Dance music on Saturday nights

Music and dancing

Dances and classes may be cancelled but you can join in from home with a Scottish Dance music event every week. BBC Radio Scotland's Take the Floor features a different Scottish dance band every Saturday night at 7pm with the programme repeated on Sundays as well as being available on the BBC Sounds App and iPlayer Radio, both of which are available outside the UK too.

Tomorrow night’s broadcast features James Coutts and his Scottish Dance Band alongside highlights from the National Association of Accordion and Fiddle Clubs Festival which took place in Grangemouth last weekend. James has shared the titles of some of the SC dances you can look forward to, with MacDonald of the Isles and Roaring Jelly among others - so you’ll hopefully have your toes tapping.

Obviously not the same as your weekly local class and dance, but hopefully a shared Scottish experience to keep us in touch with a dance round the kitchen at home!
