Dublin Scottish Country Dance Club

Group profile

Dublin Scottish Country Dance Club was founded in 1966 by a group of Scots living in Ireland. Today, the membership is international, with ages ranging from a teenager to over-80. Visitors from other areas are always welcome.
We dance on Thursday nights from 8:15pm at Dun Laoghaire Presbyterian Church hall. The Club is mainly a social, rather than teaching, dance group of around 2 sets, with instruction shared between four dancers on a monthly rota. Most weeks music is provided by John and Judy Barnes on accordion and fiddle respectively.
In autumn 2018, for the first time, we had enough newcomers to run a separate 8-week beginners’ course.
We hold an annual dance, and at least one ceilidh during the year. Occasionally we provide entertainment at care homes and hospitals or for special events.
See our website http://www.dublin-scd.com/index or contact our Secretary secretary@dublin-scd.com for more details.
