Nelson Scottish Country Dancers can be found in the charming City of Nelson (population 10,000) in the southern interior of British Columbia, CAN. The beginnings of our dance group are lost in the mists of time. Our longest standing members think that Scottish county dancing began here in the 1960s. So our group is about 50 years old! We became an affiliate of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society in 1978. We offer weekly dance classes to the community from September to May. At the present time, classes are held from 7 to 9 PM on Wednesday evening s at Central School Gym, (Entrance near the corner of Ward and Mill Streets). Our more experienced dancers enjoy travelling each spring to a workshop organized by the Vernon Scottish Country Dancers. Some of us venture to other workshops including TAC Summer School. New or visiting dancers should contact Julia at 250-354-7004 (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Kathy at 250-359-7545 (email@example.com) for the latest information on classes.
