Virtual Spring Fling 2021

Happy to meet, sorry to part, happy to meet again

Spring Fling is THE Scottish Country Dance Festival for dancers aged 12 - 35 organised by The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and a dedicated volunteer-led team. Held in a different city each year, the event is an opportunity for young dancers from across the world to get together, make friends, pick up some skills and overall have a fantastic weekend of dancing Scottish!

Welcome to Spring Fling 2021 - online!

The Aberdeen Spring Fling team worked hard to plan this virtual event and on Saturday, 24th April we invited the young and young at heart to classes, a dance devising workshop, an evening ceilidh and more.

Didn't manage to join in live? Watch again below:

Step class (click the "Step class" tab above to watch the videos)

We’ll kick off in the morning with a pre-recorded step class covering Flora MacDonald’s Fancy. The class will be provided in bite size chunks so that you can master each step at your own pace! Videos will be available both on the day and afterwards, giving you plenty of time to perfect the dance.

Scottish country dance advanced class

These will be run by our teachers from their own homes. You can pick one, or do both if you feel up to it!

We will round off the evening with a Ceilidh. There will be a selection of live and recorded music for you to dance to and enjoy.
