Teaching tracks

Here you will find the resources for each of the dances that make up the Unit 2 dances. For each there are available a set of ‘teaching tracks’ which consist of the dance broken down into sequences of bars that teachers are likely to use in teaching the dance. For each dance there are two sets. One set with a ‘Ready and…’ and one set with introductions.

If candidates are reliant on using recorded music for the exam then these tracks should be used. They can all be downloaded. If they are going to be played using a computer (PC / laptop / etc), then they should not be modified using any form of speed control.
If they are transferred to a CD to be played through a CD player, then care should be taken to ensure that the tracks are played at the correct speed. This can be checked by playing track 11, the strathspey Mrs Hamilton of Wishaw. If it is played at the correct speed the time from the start of the first chord to the final note of the end chord will be 2 minutes 8 seconds.

Follow the links for the resources for individual dances below.
