Their remit is to encourage and promote Scottish country dancing and its music to children and young people worldwide, and includes:

  • the establishment of an inclusive policy and strategy for the delivery of Scottish country dancing to children and young people in schools, colleges and universities
  • the development of policies and procedures to extend access to, support and encourage young dancer participation in demonstration teams, and the creation of a calendar of opportunities for such teams to display and share their talent and skills
  • organising the annual Spring Fling event, a Scottish country dance festival aimed at dancers aged 12 - 35
  • the management of the Young Dancer Facebook page
  • the distribution and maintenance of RSCDS guidance to Branches wishing to develop initiatives to engage children and young people with SCD in their local area
