Saltire SCD runs workshops and social dances every couple of months for the dancing community to provide opportunities for advanced, energetic dancing that no other branch or affiliated group offers in the area.

There are many beginners and intermediate classes in the area and some that do more advanced dancing, but none that cater to youth, energetic dancing. We aim to supplement what other local classes do weekly, by having very advanced events on every month or two to really push forwards in technique and knowledge of complex geography.

We have a demonstration Team that competes at Newcastle Festival every year. Our first year of competing (as St Andrews and Glasgow Dancers which resulted in Saltire being formed) we placed second with our ladies team. Our second year of competing (albeit the first as officially Saltire SCD) we won the ladies category and had the 5th highest score in the mixed competition out of 11 teams.

We are based in Tayside and Fife and use various venues in the area.
