"Dance Scottish" Schools pack

The RSCDS has produced a pack "Dance Scottish" for teachers and workers with children and young people and has been endorsed by 'Learning and Teaching Scotland'.

The pack aims to introduce children to their cultural heritage and give them social and physical skills for life through teaching Scottish Country Dancing in the classroom as part of the 5-14 curriculum.

The pack is available from the shop and contains:

a book of 18 well-known social dances (list below) graded from elementary to advanced, plus a glossary of steps and formations, and teaching advice for schools,
an audio CD of music for teaching steps and for all the featured dances,
a video illustrating teaching methods and a selection of the dances performed by school pupils.

The cost of the pack is £35 (GBP 35), plus post & package.

The cost of the pack to schools is £30 (GBP 30) plus post and package.
