Approaching media outlets

The RSCDS is proud of its worldwide network of Branches & Groups and the role each member takes on as a global ambassador for Scottish Country Dancing. We love to highlight examples of this passion and dedication towards dancing and the Society, and one of the best ways to do this is through press coverage.

We recognize though that dealing with the press can be somewhat difficult, as approaching media outlets without any direction and/or materials can result in your request being passed over (trust us, this happens all the time; even to seasoned veterans!)

We would like to help by providing you with the tools you will need to properly, and confidently, approach your local media outlets for coverage of your event. Whether it is a class, dance, or your AGM, we feel that once you are equipped with the RSCDS press package, any press will be good press!
