Support the work of the RSCDS
Without our dedicated volunteers, the running of the RSCDS would not be possible. From the Management Board to our Branches who organise classes and dances, we value you all.
Management Board
Management Board Trustees work collaboratively to champion the Society, lead the strategic direction and ensure decision making and risk control are of the highest standard. Members can join Board meetings remotely from anywhere in the world!
Committee Members
RSCDS Management Committees are focused on education, youth and member-driven projects. The Committees are as diverse as the SCD community and their contributions are essential to the progression of the Society. Members can join meetings remotely from anywhere in the world!
General volunteering
We sometimes also look for volunteers to help us with specific Working Groups and other Society activities. For example, do you have skills in marketing, law, IT, finance, photography, copy or video editing? If so, please let us know.

Neil - Management Board member
"This is my third term as a member of the Management Board, so having served previously, I knew what would be expected of me should I be elected again when I stood for election in November 2020.
Being part of the Board of a worldwide organisation that sets strategy and direction is very insightful. The RSCDS is a very complex organisation, and it takes time to get used to how it operates in different parts of the world. However, the variety of professional backgrounds of Board members means that there is a very diverse range of views on how best to achieve our agreed aims and objectives, and thus deliver for our family of members across the globe.
Being involved in some of the sub–committees/panels over the years has allowed me to use my professional background to support the work of the RSCDS. It has also allowed me to give back some time to an organisation that has provided me with lots of opportunities as a musician over many years. I would strongly recommend that members consider standing for either the Board, or one of the Standing Committees, if they think that they can give something back to the RSCDS and thus help to take it forward."
Anne - Education & Training Committee member
"I was interested in becoming involved with E&T because I had a notion that my experience in an area of training far removed from SCD might introduce a different, and possibly useful, point of view. And sharing that experience has already led to some interesting, thoughtful and hopefully productive discussions."
