DST - Antiques Road Trip visits Glasgow

Glasgow Branch Antiques Road Trip

Would you like to come and learn about ceilidhs, their history and how they are danced today?’

As part of filming a new episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip a group of Scottish country dancers from Glasgow Branch joined some other volunteers to be filmed dancing the Gay Gordons and Military Two-step at a venue in Glasgow’s West End, and to answer some questions about ceilidhs past and present.

Glasgow Branch Antiques Road Trip

Although neither dance is strictly part of the Scottish country dance tradition, country dancing and ceilidh dancing are both part of Scottish dance culture in Scotland and around the world. It was fun and interesting, and hopefully was an opportunity for others to hear about RSCDS and Scottish country dancing.

The episode aired on BBC 2 at 8pm on Tuesday 13 December and is available on BBC iPlayer (UK only)
