DST - Cape Town returns to classes

Scottish country dancers in Cape Town

In-person dancing in Cape Town resumes

Wednesday 16th February saw Scottish country dancers in Fish Hoek lace up their ghillies and join friends on the dance floor for our first in-person dance class after a two-year hiatus. There was much excitement, and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying popular dances.

Various protocols were in place to try and ensure a safe return to dancing and wearing a mask while dancing didn’t turn out to be as challenging as some feared. Teacher, Heather Hodgson had structured the programme to include dances that didn’t require handing or could with minor modifications limit the use of hands. What a joy to once again dance live and in-person!

We're delighted to hear that Cape Town Branch have been able to return to the dancefloor after such a long hiatus. If you have similar good news stories to share, do email lyndsay.walker@rscds.org, we're looking forward to reading them!
