serTA hold Basic Skills course

sERTA Basic Skills course

serTA (South East Region Teachers Association) held a Basic Skills (MC) Course over two days, 15th January and 4th February 2024 with six attendees from the South East Region.   They learnt how to analyse a dance from original descriptions, recap succinctly, using correct terminology, and about the music and how to plan programmes.

All received their Record of Attendance and worked hard during the course.

One attendee said, I am so pleased that I took the plunge and signed up for what turned out to be a most enjoyable course. I have learnt an enormous amount and Jane opened my eyes to all the subtleties of how to be a good caller/MC. I look forward to trying things out sometime soon.”

Another added, “many thanks for the Basic Skills teaching course. I found it immensely useful and could see that others did too. It was great to work with them, to learn from the many years’ experience accumulated by Jane and Ken, and to have fun whilst doing it.”
